Terms of Use

Last updated: May 3, 2026

1. Overview

TermsTx ("the Platform") is an experimental tool for composing, parameterizing, and documenting Bitcoin Script contract templates. The Platform is operated by Civic Studio LLC ("we", "us", "our").

By using the Platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Nature of the Platform

TermsTx is a documentation and composition tool. It helps users author and parameterize Bitcoin Script templates. It does not execute transactions, hold funds, or provide custodial services.

Script contracts created on this Platform are templates. Broadcasting transactions to the Bitcoin SV network is performed externally by the user through their own wallet (e.g., Yours Wallet, Qart.app, or other self-custody tools).

3. No Legal Advice

The Platform does not provide legal advice. Contract templates available on this Platform are technical artifacts, not legal instruments.

We strongly encourage all users to:

  • Consult with a qualified attorney before relying on any contract template for legal purposes.
  • Obtain an independent third-party audit of any script before deploying it on-chain with real funds.
  • Understand the implications of irreversible on-chain transactions before broadcasting.

4. Limitation of Liability

The Platform and all contract templates are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Civic Studio LLC shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of funds resulting from the use or misuse of any contract template.
  • Errors, bugs, or vulnerabilities in contract templates, whether authored by us, by users, or imported from third-party sources.
  • Unintended behavior of Bitcoin Script on the BSV network.
  • Any damages arising from reliance on hashes, signatures, or on-chain proofs generated by the Platform.

5. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • The correctness and suitability of any contract template you create, import, or parameterize.
  • Verifying rendered scripts before broadcasting transactions.
  • Securing your private keys and wallet credentials.
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

6. Third-Party Audit Recommendation

For any contract template intended for use with significant funds or legal obligations, we recommend engaging a qualified smart contract auditor. The template hash and instance hash produced by the Platform can be used to verify that audited templates have not been modified.

7. Open Source and Transparency

Contract templates stored in this Platform's repository are open source and subject to version control. Each template has a deterministic content-addressable hash. Changes to templates produce new hashes, making modifications auditable.

8. Disclosure Policy

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Platform or in any contract template, please report it responsibly. See our Security Policy for reporting instructions.

We commit to:

  • Acknowledging receipt of vulnerability reports within 48 hours.
  • Providing an initial assessment within 5 business days.
  • Coordinating disclosure timelines with the reporter.
  • Crediting reporters who follow responsible disclosure practices.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
